The many tactics of sex traffickers
Sex trafficking is defined as the action or practice of illegally transporting people from one area to another for sexual exploitation. Anyone can be a victim, and offenders can span across every socioeconomic background.
Below are facts that may surprise just how big of an issue it is.
The United States sees 20,000 people trafficked into the country each year, many are from Mexico and Eastern Asia.
Half of the human trafficking cases in the US involved children.
Many estimate that less than 1% of human trafficking victims are ever identified, most cases go undetected.
The National Human Trafficking Hotline receives an average of 150 calls per day.
It's not uncommon for women to bait other women into being trafficked. Offenders lure people with promises of a dream job, money, or travel experiences. Those promises however never come to fruition. Later physical violence or the threat of it is often used to maintain control over victims
If you know a victim call the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888.
Maxwell Pleads Not Guilty
Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein’s long-standing colleague pleaded not guilty on all sex trafficking charges brought upon her in federal court.
Epstein was an infamous sex offender, with additional charges pending. His case was unique because of his alleged relationships with powerful people in politics, academia, and Hollywood.
Epstein died last year in what was ruled as a suicide in jail awaiting trial. His death however was not without controversy. A camera malfunction resulted in his death not being recorded. Many believe he was murdered while awaiting trial.
Since the death of Epstein, prosecutors have turned their attention to his alleged right-hand woman, Ghislaine Maxwell. Dozens have accused Ghislaine of helping Epstein traffic and abuse underage victims. Despite allegations, Maxwell's attorneys claim she has not had contact with Jefferey Epstein in 10 years, and she's a victim of overzealous prosecutors looking for notoriety.
Maxwell must not be enjoying her time in jail. She offered a 28+ million bail package and volunteered to wear a GPS tracking ankle bracelet. It was denied by a judge. If convicted Maxwell could face up to 35 years in prison.

Would you fight for your name? ⚔
When you are introduced to someone who shares your first name, you might smile at the coincidence. 😃
If your name is Josh, then you might be tempted to meet up with them in Nebraska for a duel. 🤺
What began as a joke, led to hundreds of Josh’s in a playful pool noodle fight in Lincoln, Nebraska. It all started when Arizona Student Josh Swain messaged other Josh’s on social media challenging them to a battle while asserting: “Whoever wins gets to keep the name”.
Attendees dressed in costume wore masks and stressed that no actual physical violence would occur.
Josh’s are charitable people. The event resulted in 300 pounds of donated food to the local food bank and $8,000 for the Children’s Hospital in Omaha.
