Bear No Match For Dog Mom 🐻🐶
17-year-old Hailey Morinico loved her dogs so much that she was willing to lunge at a black bear to save their lives. 🐶 When she saw a black bear and its two cubs standing on the top ledge of a wall in her backyard, her first instinct was to run up to it and shove it off! While the dogs barked at the bears, and the mama bear swiped at the dogs, the only thing on Hailey’s mind was to save her precious pups.
Post-interview she even admitted she didn’t know what she was thinking! 🤣 Miraculously, Hailey’s frantic shove was enough to get the bear to cower away and nobody got hurt. 🙏
Not Everybody’s First Instinct Is To Push A Bear… And It Shouldn’t Be!! 🙃
Bears are becoming more accustomed to humans these days, especially as the number of people visiting National Parks rises! 💯
In places like Yosemite National Park, warnings about the bears are posted everywhere!🐻 If a bear is extra hungry, it will even climb through the windows of a car!🚙
Bears are not the only thing to look out for when on a camping trip... 🏕🌲
5 Safety Tips For Your Next Camping Trip💥
1. Bring A Headlamp💡: Headlamps make it very easy to light your path at night. Their small size makes them convenient for packing. Plus they are much harder to lose since they are on your head! 😉
2. Practice Setting Up Your Tent At Home: Tents can be tricky, but if you practice beforehand you won’t get frustrated! Know the size of your tent so you can pick an adequate spot.
3. Warm Your Sleeping Bag With Your Water Bottle🔥: Get a Nalgene or a metal insulated bottle. Before packing up the kitchen, boil a last round of water to fill up your bottle. Then put the bottle inside your sleeping bag, and voila✨, you will stay warm through the night!
4. Stuff The Bottom Of Your Sleeping Bag With Warm Clothes👖👚: If you do not want to do the hot water bottle trick, this works too. Clothes at the bottom of the bag will help insulate the bag and keep your feet warm (which is the most important body part to keep warm!).
5. In The Backcountry, Use A Bear Canister!🐻: Most National Parks require the use of a bear canister for overnight hikers. Ask the staff how to use it or learn before you go. These canisters hang out of reach of any potential predator.
